Get Help has troubleshooters for Microsoft 365 you can run for many common scenarios. These often help resolve issues without the need to contact support. If a troubleshooter is available for your issue, select Start to run that troubleshooter.

Available Microsoft 365 troubleshooters

Use the Excel check troubleshooter to resolve startup, hang, or crash issues.

  1. Start the Get Help app.

  2. In the Search bar, enter Microsoft Excel stops working.

  3. Follow the steps provided.

Use the Microsoft 365 uninstall troubleshooter to uninstall Microsoft 365, Office 2021, Office 2019, or Office 2016 from your Windows device:

Note: Click Open if you get a pop-up window indicating This site is trying to open Get Help.

Use the Microsoft 365 setup troubleshooter to install Microsoft 365 on your device.

  1. Start the Get Help app.

  2. In the Search bar, enter set up Microsoft Office.

  3. Follow the steps provided.

Use the Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter to resolve Microsoft 365 subscription activation issues.

  1. Start the Get Help app.

  2. In the Search bar, enter Microsoft 365 activation.

  3. Follow the steps provided.

Use the Microsoft 365 sign-in troubleshooter to help resolve sign-in issues encountered with Microsoft 365.

  1. Start the Get Help app.

  2. In the Search bar, enter sign in to Microsoft Office.

  3. Follow the steps provided.

Use the Microsoft 365 shared computer activation (SCA) troubleshooter to enable shared computer activation for Microsoft 365 applications.

  1. Start the Get Help app.

  2. In the Search bar, enter shared computer activation.

  3. Follow the steps provided.

Use the MIcrosoft 365 inventory scan troubleshooter to generate either a normal or full scan report of your computer and installed Microsoft 365 applications.

  1. Start the Get Help app.

  3. Follow the steps provided.

After you run any troubleshooter, Get Help provides details on any findings and suggestions for possible remedies. If one of these resolves your problem, close the app and continue working.
