Use a screen reader to access and customize Viva Connections on Android and iOS

Viva Connections, integrated into Microsoft Teams, provides a personalized gateway to your organization's resources, news, and tools. By centralizing everything in one place, it enhances employee engagement and keeps everyone informed and productive.

Key elements in the Viva Connections app
The key elements in Viva Connections are as follows:

Dashboard – This is the central hub that brings together the tools and resources you need to get your work done.

Feed – This tab aggregates news/updates/information from multiple sources based on the sites and communities you follow.
-
Resources – This tab displays your intranet’s resources to make it easy to access popular destinations within your organization.
Access Viva Connections in Teams
To access the Viva Connections on your Android device, follow these steps:

Open the Teams app on your device.

Flick right to check if Viva Connections app is already pinned to the bottom bar, else flick right till you get to the More tab indicated by three dots icon present at the bottom right, then double-tap to select it. This will open hidden apps.

Flick right until you hear "Viva Connections,” then double-tap to open it.

By default the focus will arrive at the Viva Connections Dashboard; to access the Feed, flick right until you hear ”Feed” button and then double-tap to open it.

To access the Resources, flick right until you hear the “Resources” button, and then double-tap to open it.

Once you open the Viva Connections app for the first time, you will see the first run experience with some directions in a dialog box. Flick right to navigate to the Next button and double-tap it to go through the initial instructions. Finally, navigate to the Got it button and double-tap to close the dialog.

If you’re opening Viva Connections for the first time, you’ll be prompted to allow the app to access your location. Grant this permission if you want to enable location-based experiences.
Customize Viva Connections dashboard
Once you’ve accessed Viva Connections, you can customize the dashboard to suit your needs. Follow these steps:

Flick right and select the More options button, then double-tap to view the context menu.

You will hear “Context menu, customise dashboard button list.” Double-tap to open the customization menu.

Flick right to navigate through the list of available cards. Double -tap to select, clear or reorder the available cards.

After making your selections, flick right to select the Apply button, then double-tap to confirm your changes.
Pin the Viva Connections app in Teams

Flick left to go to the More tab indicated by the three-dot icon at the bottom right, then double-tap to select it.

Flick right once to hear the "Reorder” button, then double-tap to open it.

Flick right until you hear the "Viva connections tab," then double-tap and hold the button to enable drag.

Drag the Viva Connections button to the top of the screen and place it in row 4.

Flick left and double-tap the Done button to confirm your selection.
