Ink Replay allows users to play back their ink strokes.

  1. Under Draw Tab, select a pen from the gallery on the ribbon, then draw on your document with either your finger or digital pen.

  2. Select Ink Replay and watch as your ink is momentarily removed and replayed in the same sequence it was originally drawn.

This feature is currently available only on the Windows platform in OneNote, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for Microsoft 365.

Transcription and Ink

Transcription and Ink  makes it easier than ever to take notes, focus on what’s important, and review your content later. With transcription on, you can record what you hear. You’re free to annotate, write notes, or highlight what’s important. When you’re ready to review, your ink will play back in lockstep with the recording. You can easily jump to a specific moment by tapping on any annotation to recall more context.   Ink Replay.png

This is only available in OneNote for Windows. Transcribe is not available for GCC/GCC-H/DoD customers.

You can transcribe speech in two ways:

  1. Record directly in OneNote.

  2. Upload an audio file.

When you play back the audio, you can see the ink strokes that you made during the recording.
