Email addresses and phone numbers associated with your Microsoft account are called aliases and they use the same contacts, online storage, subscriptions, and account settings.

You can use any of your aliases to sign in to Microsoft services or your Windows and Xbox devices, and you can select any of them for sending and receiving email. Your aliases share a single password.

You can also add a different email address (such as your partner's email) as a way to verify sign in information.

Add, remove or update an email address or phone number

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft account to edit Your infoEdit account info

  2. Choose Add email, Add phone number, or select Remove next to an existing address.

Tip: If you can't sign in, or want to make changes to the email addresses or phone numbers associated with your Microsoft account and how they are used to sign in, use our guided support tool.
