Description     The Task Calendar field lists all calendars available to be applied to a task. This includes the base calendars (Standard, 24 Hours, Night Shift) that come with Project, as well as any new base calendars you have created. When Project schedules the task, the working times in the applied task calendar supersede those in the project calendar. If resources are assigned, the task is scheduled based on the intersection of the working times of the task and resource calendar. If you turn on the Ignore Resource Calendar field, only the task calendar is used for scheduling the task.

Best Uses     Add the Task Calendar field to a task sheet when you want to enter, change, or view the task calendar applied to tasks. Also use this field for sorting, filtering, or grouping tasks by the type of calendar applied.

Example     You have created three different task calendars to be used for several specific tasks. You add the Task Calendar field to the Entry table of the Gantt Chart view. Choose the appropriate task calendar you want to apply to the specific tasks.

Remarks     You can also apply a task calendar to a task with the Task Information dialog box. By default, the task calendar is set to None, which indicates that the project calendar and resources' calendars are used to schedule the task.

You can also have Project disregard the resource calendars of any assigned resources in favor of the applied task calendar in the Task Information dialog box.
