Summarize ideas with Copilot in Whiteboard

What is Whiteboard?

Whiteboard is a Microsoft app that functions like a traditional whiteboard but is hosted virtually. Digital whiteboards can work seamlessly with other video conferencing and screen-sharing platforms to make collaboration possible, even when everyone isn’t physically in the same room.

Cameron, a sales manager at a healthcare supply manufacturer, had just left an executive meeting about changes to the commission structure for salespersons. His whiteboard was filled with sticky notes outlining the current and proposed commission structures. He needed a well-written summary to share with his team.

To save time, Cameron decides to use the Summarize feature in Copilot in Whiteboard. He completes the following steps:

1. Select the Copilot button next to the Whiteboard toolbar.

2. In theCopilotmenu, select Summarize.

   • Copilot creates a Loop component with a bullet point summary.

3. Select Keep it to place the Loop component on the whiteboard.

4. Make edits to the summary, if needed.

5. Select Copy to copy the Loop component and paste it in an email.

Cameron just saved an hour of work by using Copilot in Whiteboard. The summary automatically includes a link to the whiteboard so collaborators can see the details and ask questions. Thanks to theCopilotSummarize feature, Cameron can share the summary with HR to ensure the right message is being communicated, receive feedback, and make edits, all within a single space.

When Cameron shares the summary with his team, they understand the main reasons and benefits of the change. They also access the whiteboard and explore the data more deeply.
