While you can store or share password protected Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files in Teams, you need to set up protection in their respective apps. 

  1. In Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, go to File > Info.

  2. Select Protect (Document, Workbook, or Presentation), choose Encrypt with Password and enter a password for the file. Select OK.

  3. Enter the password again when prompted and select OK.
