If you want to add a logo to your video, easily import a JPEG or PNG file, then drag and drop it onto the timeline above your video. Your logo will become an overlay onto your video. This process does NOT require users to use the brand kit feature

You can also store your logo assets inside the brand kit for easy access.

If your logo has a white background, easily remove the background using the image background removal feature. Our smart AI technology will automatically detect and remove the background on your logo image. This feature is available for Clipchamp for personal accounts.

Importing a logo to the media tab

Importing a logo image works the same way you would import other kinds of images using the media tab on the toolbar.

  1. Click on the import media button in the media tab on the toolbar. Browse your computer files or connect to your OneDrive.

  2. Select your image then click on the open button.

  3. Once your logo is in the media tab, drag and drop the asset onto the timeline above your video. Make sure the image asset is placed above so it automatically appears on top of your video as an overlay. If you place the image file below your video, the video will become the top later and the logo will not be seen.

Follow the "adding images to your video tutorial" for more detail.

Adding a logo to your brand kit

If brand kit is enabled on your account, you'll have access to customized branding, which means you can upload logo files that are more easily available across multiple editing projects without having to upload them into each video separately.

In Clipchamp for personal accounts, brand kit is part of the paid premium plan. In Clipchamp for work, the brand kit feature is available if your organization is on a corresponding Microsoft 365 business SKU and has a license for Clipchamp's premium plan assigned to your user.

  1. To add a logo to your brand kit, either locate the brand kit on the Clipchamp video editor homepage, or access inside the video editor on the toolbar.

  2. Click on the add logos button to select your logo from your computer files. Your computer files will automatically open. Select your logo, then click on the open button.

Logos must be a PNG, JPEG or SVG file type with a maximum size of 10 MB.

Follow the brand kit tutorial for more detail.

Removing the background of your logo

The following steps apply to Clipchamp for personal accounts. Background removal is not available in Clipchamp for work at this stage.

  1. Import your logo image to the media tab, then drag and drop the logo asset onto the timeline.

  2. Click on your image in the timeline so it's highlighted green. Next, right click on the video preview window/stage, then click on the remove background button.

  3. You can also click on the three dots on the floating toolbar to open the background removal feature. Click on the three dots, then click on the remove background button.

  4. Your image background will automatically start getting removed using AI technology. Once the background has been removed from your image, a second asset will show in the media tab on the toolbar. Here, your original image and a second image with a transparent background will appear. Your transparent background image will also appear on the timeline and automatically download to your device.

Follow the "how to remove background from your photos and images tutorial" for more detail.
