Save time with agents or bots in chat 

Add and prompt agents and bots in a Teams chat for easy organization, updates, and more based on the context of the conversation. In a chat, select View and add participants  Add people icon > Add agents and bots Icon to add a bot in Microsoft Teams​​​​​​​. @Mention a bot in a message to assign tasks or prompt anything else the bot assists with. Schedule channel messages 

Whether you’re working with people from different time zones or during off-hours, schedule your channel messages and posts to make sure they publish at the right time. To learn more, see Schedule channel messages in Microsoft Teams.

Choose your notification location 

Customize where Teams notifications appear on your screen. In Teams, select Settings and more  Microsoft Teams more options icon > Settings  Settings icon > Notifications and activity Activity button. Under Display > Position on the screen, choose where you want to see notifications. Available on Teams desktop for Windows. 

Meeting transcription enhancements 

Check out these updates to the transcription experience in meetings: 

  • Simpler settings: Select Transcript > Language settings > Meeting spoken language for meeting language and translation settings.

  • Better transcription accuracy: People will be prompted to select the spoken language when turning on meeting transcription, recording, or Copilot.

  • Access to spoken language settings: Only the meeting organizer, co-organizers, and person who initiated the transcript can change the spoken language.

  • Mismatched language notifications: The organizer, co-organizers, and transcript initiator will be notified if someone speaks a different language than the one selected in the spoken language settings.

Debrief in the green room after events 

Recap with other organizers, co-organizers, and presenters after an event in the green room. Select End event in the meeting controls to end the event for attendees and return to the green room. To learn more, see Using the green room in Microsoft Teams

A smarter way to recap events 

Intelligent recap is now available after Teams town halls and webinars. Organizers, co-organizers, and presenters can browse the event recording by speakers and topics and access AI-generated notes, tasks, and name mentions. Link to recaps

Switch to the new Teams calendar for enhanced scheduling and planning. Explore new calendar views, customizations, and much more. Save time with instant hyperlinks

Create hyperlinks with fewer clicks and less time. When you compose a message, highlight the text you want to hyperlink and paste the link you want to insert. It’s that simple! To learn more, see Send a file, picture, or link in Microsoft Teams.

Your breakout room, your choice

In meetings with breakout rooms, meeting participants can now choose which breakout room they join. Select Rooms  teams breakout room icon in your meeting controls and select Join next to a room to enter it. To learn more, see Use breakout rooms in Microsoft Teams meetings.

Less limits on content forwarding in Teams

Now, you can forward Loop components and app cards across Teams, as well as posts to and from channels. Just hover over what you want to share and select More options Microsoft Teams more options icon​​​​​​​ > Forward  Forward button.

Screen share with audio in Mesh events

Recap instant meetings and calls 

Quickly review highlights from instant Teams calls and meetings with intelligent recap. After the call or meeting ends, open the chat and select View recap in the meeting thumbnail. Download webinar and town hall transcripts 

Download event transcripts to save and review them long after the event ends. Set your preferred skin tone for emoji and reactions

New minimized presenter window

Chat privately in a town hall with event group chat

Automatically set your workplace presence in BYOD rooms

Now, when you connect to peripherals in a BYOD room, your workplace presence will automatically update to In the office, making it easier to connect with co-workers who are in the office.

Refreshed teams and channel view

Organize, manage, and keep up with teams and channels by switching to the new teams and channels view. To get started, select More channel options  Microsoft Teams more options icon at the top of your teams list and select Your teams and channels  Settings button. In the new view, create or open a team, view and sort channels, choose channels of interest you want to show, and more. 

Same chat, more details

The new chat details pane gives you all the info you need, without leaving the conversation. Just open a Teams chat and select Open chat details  Chat info pane icon. to view pinned messages, search for specifics, and more.

Meeting recap notifications in Teams

Get notified in your Teams Activity feed when a meeting recap is ready to view. Select the notification to go right to the recap. To learn more, see Meeting recap in Microsoft Teams

Manage who can admit attendees from the meeting lobby

When you schedule a meeting, choose who can admit people waiting in the lobby. To learn more, see Using the lobby in Microsoft Teams meetings.

Voice isolation in Teams for MacOS

Filter out background noise during Teams calls and meetings with voice isolation, now available on MacOS devices. Voice isolation uses AI to block surrounding noise so others can hear you clearly. To learn more, see Voice isolation in Microsoft Teams calls and meetings.

Turn off town hall and webinar emails

When you schedule a town hall or webinar, you can turn off Teams attendee emails before publishing the event. In the scheduling form, go to Setup Details and turn the Enable attendee emails toggle off. This setting can't be changed after the event is published. Upvote, archive, sort, and filter questions in Teams Q&A

Boost engagement during Teams meetings and events with Q&A. Attendees can now upvote questions they like and sort questions by upvotes. In recurring meetings, organizers can archive past questions to keep the feed fresh. They can also use filters to view archived or unarchived questions. More avatar customizations

Automatically set your workplace presence on bookable desks

Rename a team's general channel

Rename your team's general channel to better reflect your team's needs and make it easier to find in the teams and channels list. Team owners and members with the appropriate permissions can rename the general channel. To learn more, see Edit a channel in Microsoft Teams.

Recommended channels when you join a team

Now, when you join a new team, you'll see channels recommended by the team owner. Easily organize and prioritize the channels you care about.

"Files" tab in chat is now "Shared"

Select Shared, previously called Files, in a Teams chat to view content shared in that conversation. Browse files, recordings, and web links that have been sent to you or by you in that chat.

Get the big picture in Teams

When someone sends multiple images in a Teams chat or channel, they'll appear next to each other on the same line. Navigate between them using the arrow keys, or remove one by hovering over it and selecting X.

Copilot now considers meeting chat in responses

When you prompt Copilot in a meeting, it'll base its responses on both the meeting transcript and chat. To learn more, see Use Copilot in Microsoft Teams meetings.

More Copilot controls for Teams meetings

Meeting organizers can now decide whether to allow Copilot in a meeting and for how long. When scheduling a Teams meeting, select Options  Settings button > More options in the meeting details. Then, go to Recording and transcript  and choose an option from the Allow Copilot dropdown menu. 

View meeting recap in Microsoft Outlook

After a meeting ends, you can now view a summary of the meeting in Outlook. The summary includes a link to the recap, transcript, recording, notes, shared files, and more. To learn more, see Meeting Recap with Outlook.

Translate back and forth between two languages

Now, translators can switch their translation direction during a Teams meeting. Interpreters can translate between two languages by choosing the language they're currently speaking at the bottom of the screen. To learn more, see Use language interpretation in Microsoft Teams meetings.

  • Keep Q&A sessions relevant by filtering and sorting questions by upvotes or key words. Archive old posts in recurring meetings to keep the feed fresh.

Request to join a shared channel

If you have a link to a shared channel in your organization, you can request to join that channel. Channel owners will be able to view and respond to your request. To learn more, see Use a link or code to join a team in Microsoft Teams.

Express yourself in town halls with live reactions 

Use live reactions during a town hall to express your emotion toward what’s being shared. Just select React  Teams emoji icon for chat in your meeting controls, choose an emoji, and watch it appear in the corner. To learn more, see Attend a town hall in Microsoft Teams.

Download Q&A questions after a town hall

All a channel's information, all in one place

Hover over a channel name to see the channel description, info about members, and more. Channel cards provide a shortcut to notification settings, owner channel management, and the channel roster. To learn more, see View channel cards in Microsoft Teams

Apps now supported in group chats with external users

Boost productivity and collaboration in group chats with apps, now available in chats with people outside your org. Members of a group chat can install, remove, or update apps for use by all members. To learn more, see Add an app to Microsoft Teams.

Redesigned meeting gallery in Teams

Teams meeting gallery enhancements provide a more consistent and personalized meeting experience:

  • Everyone appears in tiles of equal size, whether their camera is on or off.

  • The gallery automatically optimizes visibility for active speakers and raised hands.

  • Video tiles for Microsoft Teams Rooms that join will automatically enlarge, offering more inclusivity for participants joining online.

  • Customize how many participants appear on your screen, prioritize participants with their cameras on, and hide yourself from the main gallery (visible only to you).

Emoji just got personal

Customize and upload your own unique emoji in Teams to react with or send in chat. To upload a custom emoji, select Emoji, GIFs, and Stickers  Teams emoji icon for chat in a message compose box. Then, select Emoji > Your org's emoji  Emoji hint icon > Add emoji  Add an app or tab button. Choose an image or GIF file and select Add emoji. To learn more, see Use Custom Emoji in Microsoft Teams

Customize notification sounds

To help you focus, you can now adjust your Teams notification sounds. Use different sounds for different notifications, such as urgent messages, or mute notifications when you’re busy or in a meeting. Go to Settings and more  Microsoft Teams more options icon > Settings Settings buttonNotifications and activity  Activity button in Teams for custom notification options. Search results now include chat messages

When you search in Teams, the results will now include messages. Filter the results to show messages only by pressing the Enter key and selecting Messages beneath the search bar. To learn more, see Search for messages and more in Microsoft Teams.

Keep channel notifications relevant

Stay informed about topics important to you by managing your channel notifications. Just hover over a channel post and select More options Microsoft Teams more options icon. If you're following the post, you can turn off notifications. If you're not following, you can turn them on. To learn more, see Customize channel notifications in Microsoft Teams.

Manage what attendees see in Teams events

Event organizers can now easily manage what attendees see in town hall events and webinars. Organizers can toggle presenters on and off from the Manage Screen pane. New "live" indicators show when a presenter is on screen. Up to seven presenters can be managed at a time. This feature is included in all Teams licenses for town halls and requires a Teams Premium license for webinars. Presenter orderability for webinars 

Customize the order in which webinar presenters are shown on the event page. Just open the event details from your Teams calendar and select Setup Presenter bios. Then, drag the names in the order you want. To learn more, see Customize a webinar in Microsoft Teams.

Mesh event templates in Teams Premium

Use templates to quickly organize Mesh events with the capabilities you need already configured. The first templates available are the Meadow and Oasis environments with the screenshare object included in both. Revisit Mesh event links in Teams Premium

In Teams Premium, you can rejoin and share previous events using past event links of events you created. Simply select the link to open the Mesh application and rejoin. To learn more, see Join an event.

Collaborative notes for channel meetings

Work together with members of your channel to update channel meeting agendas, notes, and action items using collaborative notes. Collaborative notes stay in sync with To Do and Planner, making it easier than ever to stay on track. To learn more, see Use collaborative meeting notes in Teams.

Presenter toolbar improvements

When you're presenting in Teams, you can now select and drag the new drag bar on the presenter toolbar to move it anywhere on your screen.  Select and drag the drag bar to move the presenter toolbar anywhere on the screen.

Provide a better video sharing experience in a meeting by selecting Optimize in the presenter toolbar, a new setting that will help your content run more smoothly.

Customize your message with Copilot

With Copilot for Microsoft 365, you can now customize your draft messages in Teams. Simply write your message, open Copilot, and choose to adjust the message with a custom prompt. Seamless communication across languages in Teams

Intelligent message translation has come to chats. When you receive a message in a different language, Teams will suggest translating it into your preferred language. Slash commands for quick actions

Chat with your team in real time with Meet Now

Need to discuss and brainstorm with your team right now? Start a quick and informal huddle using Meet Now in a group chat. Meet Now in group chat enables ad-hoc calls in real time with your team, providing an alternative to a formal, scheduled meeting. Regardless of your whereabouts, you can start a call as spontaneously as dropping by your colleague’s desk.

Reserve your office spot with bookable desks

Reserve desks on the spot by simply connecting to the monitor or other equipment at the desk. Share your location to collaborate better with colleagues in the office. IT teams can also track desk peripherals in the Inventory provided in the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management portal. To learn more, see First things to know about bookable desks.

Co-edit code blocks in Teams

Collaborate more efficiently with your team by co-editing code blocks. Easily insert code into a Loop component or convert a native code block into one. Anyone with access to the Loop component can review and co-edit the code, streamlining communication and enhancing productivity.

Share code snippets with rich previews

Easily share code with your team in chats by pasting a permalink that shows a rich preview from Azure DevOps. Recipients can view the code in Azure DevOps without leaving the chat, helping your team understand the context quickly.

A new look to the compose box

Teams has a new and improved compose box designed to make sending chats simpler and more intuitive. The streamlined layout provides quick access to frequently used functions like message editing, emoji, Loop components, and Copilot. To explore more tools and features, select the plus sign to access the extended menu.

Control access to meeting recordings and insights

Meeting organizers now have more control over who can access meeting recordings, transcripts, and AI-generated insights. Choose from three options: everyone, organizers and co-organizers, or specific people. This setting can be changed before the meeting starts and is available to those with a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license. Mute and unmute your mic from the Windows taskbar

Multitask during Teams meetings without missing a beat. Now you can mute and unmute your microphone directly from the Windows taskbar. No need to switch back and forth between screens. Just click the microphone icon in the taskbar to quickly mute or unmute yourself.

Recap for transcript-only meetings

Intelligent recap is now supported after transcribed meetings that weren't recorded. If your meeting was only transcribed, you'll have access to name mentions and AI-generated meeting notes and tasks. Intelligent recap features are available as part of the Copilot for M365 license. Transcript storage improvements

All transcripts are now stored in OneDrive for Business. Anytime you open a transcript in Teams, you'll see the OneDrive for Business transcript copy. Future meeting transcripts will no longer be saved in Exchange Online; all transcripts will be stored on OneDrive for Business. Streamlined transcript deletion

If you delete a transcript in the Teams app, both copies of the transcript (OneDrive for Business and Exchange Online) will be deleted. If you delete a transcript from Stream, only the copy in OneDrive for Business will be deleted. To learn more, see Edit or delete a meeting transcript in Microsoft Teams.

Changes to default transcript permissions

Now, transcript owners can download or delete a transcript file while participants can only view the transcript. Owners can also manage which participants can download, view, and edit the transcript. To learn more, see View live transcription in Microsoft Teams meetings.

Prevent webinar sharing on social media

When you organize a public webinar, choose whether attendees can share the link via social media. To prevent sharing on social media, open the upcoming webinar in your Teams calendar, go to Setup > Details, and turn the Allow sharing to social media from event site toggle off. With collaborative annotations, people sharing their screen in a meeting can add drawings, text, and more to their shared content. Now, screen sharers can save annotations for later access. If you share your screen in a meeting, select Annotate in the presenter toolbar. Then, select Capture a snapshot to save a snapshot of your annotations to a Whiteboard file. Interact with shared content during a meeting

When someone shares their screen in a meeting, participants can now interact with the content while annotating. They can advance slides, scroll through a document, or resume where they left off without restarting the annotations session. Make more conversation with Copilot

After Copilot responds to your questions or requests in chat, ask for more details or clarifications about the responses. For example, after Copilot summarizes a chat, you can ask to elaborate on the first point of the summary. To learn more, see Use Copilot in Microsoft Teams chat and channels.

Smarter file attach suggestions

Easily find the file you want to attach in a chat with context-based suggestions. When you select Attach file Teams assignment attach icon from the chat compose box, Teams will suggest the five most relevant files from OneDrive and SharePoint, based on the context of your conversation. Simplified team creation

When you create a team, the new default experience will be to create a team from scratch. You can still create a team from a template by selecting More create team options and choosing from the template library. To learn more, see Create a team from scratch in Microsoft Teams.

Create channels with ease

Create a channel from the same menu as creating a team. Select Teams  Teams button > Create and join teams and channels Cross icon at top of the screen > Create channel. Sign into multiple Teams accounts at once

Now, you can be signed in to several Teams accounts simultaneously, including government accounts. Keep track of notifications and tasks across multiple accounts without switching context. To learn more, see Manage accounts and organizations in Microsoft Teams.

Choose translated caption options in town halls

Town hall organizers can now select up to six available caption languages, or up to 10 with Teams Premium, for their event. Once attendees join, they can choose which language they want their captions translated into. To learn more, see Use live captions in Microsoft Teams meetings.

Keep track of town hall Q&A

Anytime someone posts a new question or reply in a town hall Q&A, a red dot will appear next to Q&A in the meeting controls until you select it to open the Q&A pane. To learn more, see Q&A in Microsoft Teams meetings.

Make your meeting official with branded Teams meetings

Keep it professional with new branded Teams meetings, available to organizations with Teams Premium. Now, your org can infuse meeting invites, pre-join screens, and backgrounds with branded colors and imagery. Customizations are set by IT admin and applied automatically.

Join personal and professional meetings from either Teams app

Now you can join personal or professional meetings without switching Teams apps or being prompted to join from your browser. Keep up with any meeting from the Teams app you joined from. To learn more, see Join a meeting in Microsoft Teams.

Share links to private and shared channels

Invite others to a channel discussion by sending them a direct link to the channel, post, or reply. To share a channel, select Teams Teams button, hover over the channel you want to share, and select More options Microsoft Teams more options icon> Get link to channel  Insert Link button. Try the new frosted glass background effect in Teams

Make your meeting background private and professional with the new frosted glass effect. To use this effect, use a transparent PNG image uploaded by your IT admin, or upload your own by going to Video effects > Add new. Then, select the image with your camera on. The transparent area of the image will turn into a blur background, while the image’s graphic will remain in the background. To learn more, see Using video in Microsoft Teams.

The new design of the Teams meeting invite helps you find important meeting details and join quickly.

Use a content camera in Teams meetings

Keep participants’ attention on whiteboards, printed documents, and other physical objects during a Teams meeting with a content camera, now supported in the new Teams. To learn more, see Share whiteboards and documents using your camera in Microsoft Teams meetings.

Meeting transcripts no longer include join or leave details

Details about when attendees join or leave a meeting are no longer displayed in a meeting transcript. Organizers can still see this information in the Attendance tab after the meeting. To learn more, see Manage meeting attendance reports in Microsoft Teams.

Apply watermark to PowerPoint Live and Whiteboard content

In Teams Premium, PowerPoint Live and Whiteboard content are now supported in meetings with watermark enabled. To learn more, see Watermark for Teams meetings.

Find it all in Recap

If your meeting has a recap, you can now access its recording and transcript in the Recap tab instead of the previous Recording & Transcription tab. If a meeting doesn’t have a recap, you can still find the recording and transcript in the Recording & Transcription tab. To learn more, see Meeting recap in Microsoft Teams.

Archive inactive channels

Channel owners and admins can now archive channels that aren’t in use without losing their messages, files, and tabs. To archive a channel, select Teams Teams button, hover over the channel, and select More options Microsoft Teams more options icon> Archive channel. To learn more, see Archive or restore a channel.

Customize tags in a channel
