In the Columns dialog box, you can pick a Preset and, if needed, provide more specific values for the number and spacing of columns.
-
Choosing one of the layouts under Presets changes the number of columns and all the column width and spacing options at once - if you find a Preset that's just right, select it, and then select OK to close the dialog box and apply the changes.
-
Or, enter a number for Number of columns and then adjust the settings under Width and spacing to choose your column width and the spacing between columns.
Notes:
-
Insert a column break to control how text flows between columns. For example, insert a column break to end a paragraph in one column and start a new paragraph at the top of the next column.
-
If your document has more than one section, a column layout will only be applied to the current section.
